A trip north has paid handsome dividends for connections of Sian Star, a 5yo son of Star Turn.

Having had resumed from a spell with an encouraging fourth on the Sunshine Coast, Trainer Darryl Hansen identified the BM 70 over the 1400m, as the ideal race for Sian Star.

Jumping from a good draw and ridden by Jai Williams, Sian Star settled in a prominent position on the pace and provided too strong for all challenger up the lengthy Rockhampton straight, to win by three quarters of a length.

The victory was the gelding’s fifth from twenty-five career starts and highlighted Hansen’s astute ability of placing horses where they’re can win.
