Jumping cleanly from the gates, Spiritof The Ocean took up a prominent position, settling second in the run behind the even-money favourite, Encrypted Feeling. The pair controlled the race throughout, and as the field rounded the home turn, Spiritof The Ocean edged up alongside the leader. Showing plenty of determination, she drew level and then gradually asserted her authority in the final stages, maintaining her advantage to the line. It was a tough and professional performance, suggesting there’s more in store for this progressive filly.
