Royal Gladiator produced a strong and determined performance to take out the BM65 over 1400m on the Sunshine Coast, continuing both his own impressive form and the stable’s recent purple patch. The victory made it two wins from his past four starts, while also contributing to a remarkable run for the yard, who have now saddled three winners from their last six runners. It’s the kind of consistency that speaks volumes about the team’s current momentum.

From the outset, Royal Gladiator showed intent, pushing forward to take up a prominent position just outside the leader. Travelling comfortably throughout, he loomed as a major threat approaching the home turn. As the field straightened, the leader kicked strongly and briefly put a margin on the chasing pack, leaving Royal Gladiator with a task ahead as they passed the 300m mark, sitting just over a length adrift.

When asked for his effort by jockey Cody Collis, Royal Gladiator responded with real purpose. He surged to the front inside the final 100 metres and, despite late challengers emerging, he held them at bay to score by a length in a tough finish.

It was the fourth career win for the son of Jungle Cat, achieved at start number 20, and further confirmation of his current form, having now won two of his last four outings. With his racing pattern, determination, and ability to absorb pressure, Royal Gladiator is proving to be a valuable and consistent performer for connections, and his latest victory suggests there could be more success on the horizon.
